Executive Director: Julia Zhu

Nice to meet you all! I'm Julia, a current senior at

Hathaway Brown and an Executive Director. I'm excited

to plan meetings and events and welcome new

members to the Catalyst! I also work at Case Western

Reserve University. My other hobbies are reading

and painting whenever I get the time. I'm excited to

make this a great year for the Catalyst!

Executive Director: Eva KroH

Hello everyone, I am Eva!  I am a senior at Hathaway Brown.

Other than the Catalyst, I am co-president of our school’s

philanthropic group “GROW”, and am a volunteer student researcher at

Case Western Reserve University. In my spare time, I enjoy

taking arabic classes at cleveland state university. I also

I love watching Ghibli films, baking, and hanging out with my friends! i am

thrilled to take on the position of the Catalyst Executive

Director alongside Julia and get to meet and work with you!

Outreach Director: Abby Gemechu

Hello everyone! I'm Abby, a current senior at

Hathaway Brown School. In addition to writing, my

interests include science, technology, and public

policy, all of which I've been able to explore

through our organization's publications!  I'm

excited to help the Catalyst grow through my roles

as an Outreach Director and HB chapter head.

Outreach Director: Margaret Chen

Hi guys! My name is Margaret. I am a senior at Hathaway

Brown. I’m excited to be one of the Catalyst’s outreach

directors and spread the word about pressing civic

engagement and social justice issues that are often

overlooked in the news. I am a student researcher at Case

Western Reserve University, an executive for HB’s

philanthropic organization GROW as and our student

investment group HBSIG, as well as a member of the varsity

tennis team. If I’m not at school or on a tennis court, I

enjoy running, making bracelets, doing puzzles, reading,

and spending time with my dog.

Outreach liason: Haasini Sanisetty

Hi everyone! My name is Haasini and I’m a

sophomore at Hathaway Brown. I have always

loved raising awareness for social problems

and looked forward to managing outreach

operations for the Catalyst with the rest of

the team. I am part of the school's all-girls

robotics team and enjoy playing the flute

and volleyball. I hope to make an impact this

year with all of the Catalyst members!

Board member: Elsa Plank

My name is Elsa, and I am a member of the Board. My favorite

pastimes are reading and baking. I am also a dancer and in Gold

Key and the Green Team.

Board Member: Iris Qi

Hi! My name is Iris Qi and I am a rising senior

at Hathaway Brown. I worked as a

contributor the previous year and am

excited to be part of the Catalyst board! I

feel very strongly about civic engagement

and social justice, which is why working for

Catalyst is something I'm passionate about.

I am also a swimmer for both high school

team and club, a swim instructor, lifeguard,

and member of HB's Student Diversity

Council. In my spare time, I enjoy reading,

eating, watching Netflix and YouTube, and

playing the piano. I'm looking forward to

making this year a great one for Catalyst!

Board member: Madeleine Burke

Hi! My name is Madeleine and I'm a new member to the

board.My hobbies are reading, debate and writing. I hope

to bring more awareness about current events to the

NorthEast Ohio area!


Publishing director: Fatema Dinary


hi all! I'm Fatema, a Twelveth grader at Hathaway

Brown! I am a Publishing Director for The Catalyst and

Hathcaff ceo. My hobbies include biking, hiking, reading,

and Playing tennis. I play club swimming and volunteer at my

local community centEr on the weekends. I can't wait to help

build our already prosperous community and reach new

heights with The Catalyst!

Publishing director: Bobin park

Hi everyone! I’m Bobin, a Senior at Wissahickon High School

in Pennsylvania. I’ve been a part of Catalyst since middle

school and continued ever since. I am a part of my school’s

student council, Model UN, newspaper, and debate clubs. I’ve

attended Yale Young Global Scholars camp and the Kenyon

Young Writers Workshop the summer of 2022. In my spare time,

I can be seen teasing my dog and getting chased around the

living room. 

Publishing director: Laila Kirkpatrick

Hi! My name is Laila Kirkpatrick and I am a senior at Hathaway

Brown! I am a publishing director for Catalyst and I am so

excited to be working with the rest of the amazing exec team

this year! I joined Catalyst as a junior and I really enjoyed

the freedom I had to write about current events and other

things that I felt were important. Outside of Catalyst I like

baking and running because I find them super relaxing  and

they give me a good break from the stress of school and

other work. I’m excited to help Catalyst publish this year!.

Chapter Head: Erica Liu

Hi everyone! My name is Erica Liu and I go to

Hudson High School. I’m super excited to be

a new addition to the exec team and I look

forward to being a part of the Catalyst

Project. My hobbies are playing tennis,

traveling, taking .5x photos (😃), K-pop, and

playing video games. At my school, I am

involved in Student Government, Science

Olympiad, Dear Asian Youth, Medical

Explorers, and NHS.

Chapter Head: Gowri Gopakumar


Hi everyone! I'm Gowri Gopakumar, a current

senior at BASIS Peoria and the chapter head for

the new Arizona Catalyst Chapter. Some of my

hobbies include reading, baking, and painting.

Besides Catalyst, I am a captain of the BASIS

Peoria Debate Public Forum team, co-founder of

the Student Volunteer Organization, and a

volunteer at the hospital. I am really excited to

join the rest of the board members to make it a

wonderful year for Catalyst!

Chapter Head: Frances Xing

Hi! My name is Frances Xing and I'm

currently a sophomore at Issaquah High

School.  Some of my hobbies include

playing tennis, listening to music,

eating, and playing with my cats. I'm also

part of my school's AAPI club,

girlswhocode club, and Deca club. I'm

super excited to work with Catalyst this

year!

Chapter Head: Kevin Shi

Hi everyone! My name is Kevin and I’m currently a Senior at St. Francis Xavier and the

first Canadian Chapter Head. I take a great interest in robotics, debate, and

literature. Over this coming year, I hope to bring more awareness to Canadian topics

of interest and have a memorable year with the rest of the Catalyst team.

Chapter Head: Michelle Chang

Hello! My name is Michelle and I'm a senior at Kimball

Union Academy in New Hampshire. I'm the president of the

school's student-run service group Penny Fellowship, the

founder of the K-pop and hip-hop dance clubs, and the

yearbook editor! My other hobbies include tennis, dance,

theatre, and tutoring. I'm so honored to be part of The

Catalyst and look forward to a great year!
